Works as expected. Not hard to install.
I bought this for my 48 volt electric golf cart. The guy that refurbished it hooked the light kit to two of the batteries. That meant that whenever I was using the lights, two of the batteries were getting used more than the other 4. I did not like that, so I bought this converter along with a fuse box to hook the lights to. I hooked mine up with a relay and used the voltage from the ignition key to trip the relay so that this device was only powered when the key is on. This saves on battery power being used when you are not using the cart. It was a fairly straight forward install and I had no trouble. Works as it should and I recommend it so far.

almost perfect.
this is good enough for the heater project i'm i process of making. PROS: its small enough to fit in the cramped up space it will be used in. CONS: needs a key activation setup, would have like this better if it was 13.8-14 volts output for other a good radio and to power lights properly..... unfortunately no one makes a 72 volt in to 13.8-14 volt out reducer, they are all 12volt out.

Great for regulating solar panel to 12V.
I am using this between a 100W solar panel that puts out 17-18V in full sun, and this regulator puts out a nice 12.6-12.8V that I then run to a 12V vehicle fan to exhaust heat out of my shop when it is sunny out. When clouds come over the solar, this unit will put out what it can get from the solar panel, I have tested 4.4V output from the panel and regulator, and that was enough to keep my fan running. The regulator won't just cut off when it drops below the input and output specified voltage, so that may be something you need to worry about if your application requires a consent voltage. In the photo, you can see the regulator sharing the solar input with a charge controller. I went with this regulator so I could run the fan from the solar with no batteries attached.

12v/25a - Voltage Not Exactly 12volts - It's 12.4 volts - Tried Two Units with Same Results
Likes:- Well Built- Physical size is pretty small considering the amperage ratingDislikes:- The voltage on the 12v 25amp unit is 12.4 volts. I returned the first unit hoping that it was an issue related to the unit I received however, the second unit I received was also 12.4 volts. I have a 13.8 volt, 10a unit and the voltage on it is true to 13.8 volts. If you need your voltage to be close to 12 volts I would not recommend this unit, however, if 12.4 volts is within tolerances for your specific need then this might work for you.- The price is a little higher than I would have expected to pay.

Simple!
It is straight forward and simple. Wires in, wires out! Definitely put in a ventilated area, it can get really hot. I did not measure the temperature but it was regulating from 14.67 volts to 12. Pushing about 7 amps (33%) power through it! Can’t imagine 36v down to 12v. It was hot enough to leave red marks. I now have a cooling fan on it.

So far so good.. works great with my custom battery pack.
I recently built my own battery pack using Lithium Ion batteries. When fully charged the pack is 16v. While I should have used LifePo4 batteries to get a solid 12v pack, I decided to try one of these instead. Worked perfectly for what I needed it to do. Maintained a good 12v as the batteries discharged from their 16v down to the 11v cutoff I had set. Didn't get too warm either though I was only pulling 12A from it. While a little bigger than I expected it did its job well.

Heavy duty
Seems externally strong and heavy duty. Ran it now for two months with no issues. Heat sink puts out decent heat but does the job!
