Five Star rating is based on giving benefit of the doubt. Have been taking twice daily for a couple of months which may not be long enough to really judge effectiveness. I take it primarily because of its anti inflammatory properties. I am 75 yrs old and have mild arthritis in my hands/ fingers which makes it difficult to make a fist. I take a number of food type supplements for the anti inflammatory properties so it’s hard to tell for a while if a new add on is doing anything. Glucosamine/Chondroitin (1500/1200) twice daily along with Turmeric(95% cuminoids) twice a day in high dose(as much as you can afford) have produced far and away the most profound results over about a six month period. I went from being able to make a half fist to being able to make a completely closed tight fist. If I become lax in taking these two supplements I start to loose flexibility in my hands within a week or two. My oldest daughter is a veterinarian and has seen noticeable results with the egg shell membrane product in her personal use so I will continue to take it for a while.

We were told by our veterinarian to try Egg Shell Membrane for stiffness in our dog's joints. He suggested that we should be able to reduce or stop the Cosequin which we have been giving to our dogs for years. He told us that he and his wife are taking the Egg Shell Membrane product themselves with very good results for their health also. I am taking it now. It's too soon to know how effective taking the Egg Shell Membrane is.

This will be my second bottle of these supplements. I started taking than about 3 weeks ago in hopes that they’d help with my chronic knee pain, as well as being a great source of calcium to make my hair and nails grow stronger. I’ve been sprinkling the powdered for over my senior chihuahua’s food for about a year and it really helps with her arthritis and mobility so I was hoping it would help me too.So far I haven’t noticed any difference in my knee stiffness or pain level, but my nails and hair have been growing like crazy and my nails are stronger and harder than they’ve ever been in my life. I’m hoping it just takes more time to help my knee, but it’s certainly not a magic pill. I’ll update if I notice additional benefits.

I've had egg shell membrane collagen before in a few mixed-type collagen powders. If you've tried those you'll recognize this flavor (if you taste it, that is). It's unlike fish or bovine collagen.Supposedly, this is type I, V and X. The main interest in this is that while typical type I/III provides raw building blocks for cartiledge, this supports supports the structural development of the cartiledge. So development or the matrix on which the cartiledge is built.Does this work? I don't know, but I've had very good results with basic collagen, and hope this improves that. I'm sort of taking it on faith, however products I've gotten from Nutricost have been consistently good, so if any egg shell membrane supplements work, this will be one of them.
